Black and White Wedding Colors – Seven Glorious Combinations
You can never go wrong when choosing Black and White as your wedding color theme. But if you aren’t comfortable with only black and white, you can create a really lovely wedding palette by adding a pop of color.
Besides looking great, there are some other things I like about having Black and White as the base colors. For one thing, you will have access to more options when looking for wedding and reception décor. And you won’t have to match an exact color … black is black! For example, the gorgeous “candelabra” in the purple collage below was purchased at an “after Halloween” sale.
And if you you want to give your bridesmaids the option of buying their dresses at a “regular” store, rather than a bridal salon, they will have lots of choices if they wear black. Notice in the collages below how colorful flowers really pop against the background of black bridesmaids’ dresses.
I created the collages below to showcase seven colors that pair really well with black and white.

Black/White and Purple Wedding Colors: Purple is a favorite wedding color and when paired with black white, it is especially luscious!
Black/White and Turquoise Wedding Colors: This is a combination that is versatile, looking great in a formal setting or on the beach.
Black/White and Green Wedding Colors: This is a fresh combination that would work particularly well in spring, summer or fall. I love the idea of adding fresh green apples to the décor as shown in the collage below.
Black/White and Red Wedding Colors: If you want a pop of red, this is a good way to do it. Having an accent of red will add pizzazz to your wedding palette!
Black/White and Pink Wedding Colors: If you love pink but your fiancé thinks it is too girly, perhaps adding it as an accent to black and white will help him embrace the color!
Black/White with Gold Wedding Colors: For a sophisticated and “dressy” palette for a winter wedding, you may want to try Gold with Black and White. As shown below, it lends itself to a little bling!
Black/White with Yellow Wedding Colors: Sunny yellow is a great contrast with black and white, perfect for your spring or summer wedding.
